The North Gauteng High Court recently heard the tragic case of a young child lost her leg in a motor vehicle accident. The child was represented by the specialist law firm de Broglio Attorneys in her matter against the Road Accident Fund (RAF). de Broglio Attorneys are experts in settling RAF claims for amounts beyond expectations for their clients who have been seriously injured in motor vehicle accidents, for which they were not to blame. In this particular case the strategic attorneys show how they secure the highest compensation for their clients when it comes to RAF claims.
Thembi Nkoxi* was a regular child growing up in Soshanguve when tragedy struck in the autumn of 2016. She had been walking along a road in her neighbourhood when she was suddenly hit by a vehicle travelling at a high speed.
Young Thembi was critically injured as a result of the accident and rushed to hospital. The doctors did all they could do to save her leg but unfortunately it was too badly damaged and was eventually amputated.
Thembi’s life was thrust from normal school girl living into a dark, unknown tunnel of pain and suffering.
Her parents had heard about the RAF helping people with payouts for injuries they sustained in motor vehicle accidents. At the same time they were referred to de Broglio Attorneys by a friend who had used the law firm for their own RAF claim and were exceptionally happy with the service and results they had received from them. Finally, there was a flicker of a light at the end of this tragic tunnel.
They contacted de Broglio Attorneys who consulted with them and assured them that they would fight for Thembi’s right to compensation and ultimately, a better life.
Her case was heard in the North Gauteng High Court and was settled for the staggering amount of R4,519,337.00.
Thembi’s mother was overjoyed that the claiming process was finally over. She said, “It was a long journey and I am happy it is over. There were lots of doctors and specialists we had to see. I am very happy about the settlement amount and now I can take care of my daughter.”
